What could you do with an StoryCraft interview?
I started StoryCraft for many reasons. It’s been that idea that just keeps popping up. What’s at the core every time it does is that we are all working so hard to build these beautiful lives, and so much of it will be lost to time. As much as we post on social, communicate on Slack, or send emails it’s all kind of floating away, out of grasp. I also noticed that there are times in our life were we do tell our story, for example in an interview or on a first date, but it isn’t captured, and if it was, we could use it for personal insight or to share with others in pursuit of our goals. And finally, there are some parts of life that have a beginning and end, journeys that forever change us and others, like starting a company, creating a work of art, or starting a family. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to go back and remember how it all happened and how you felt about it?
Ideas!
Job seekers: Make a reel to share on socials, telling your career story.
Creators: Document a project from day one until the big unveiling, launch, or show. You could use the audio as part of the project, in marketing, or tucked it away to bring out 25 years ago at your retrospective :)
Founders: Remember the podcast Startup. It was pretty cool to hear the company's making captured in real-time. You could use it now as marketing materials, to inspire employees, or give it to the folks doing a documentary about how you changed the world in 5 years.
Anyone: I know you have some go-to stories that make your family laugh or roll their eyes. Let’s capture these so they can have them when you are gone. Or give them as gifts - perfect for graduation, weddings, or celebrations of life.
It’s important to remember that you don’t have to have a use for the recordings, just the feeling that what you are doing and who you are is worth capturing!
